Greenbusch provided the audio/video and acoustical design services for the remodel and upgrade of this premier 1600-seat lecture hall. The audio/video system features touch screen control of all audio/video components and multi-channel wireless capabilities. Major goals of the project were to improve the intelligibility of the lecturer, and increase the quality of the program audio while staying within budget and re-using existing components when possible. Greenbusch provided an innovative approach by utilizing the existing audio system for program only. Some new components were added, and the system was improved by adding digital processing and new amplification. A new, dedicated voice only system was designed, allowing for optimization of coverage and intelligibility. This new audio system significantly improves lecturer intelligibility and interactivity, while also providing great program audio to every seat in the hall. A complete video switching system was designed to allow the presenter, or assistant in the booth, to project any media, from film to DVD, and designed with the ability to feed audio and video to UWTV for broadcast. The entire system is controlled by a combination of Greenbusch designed touch-screen systems in the booth and on the custom podium. Acoustician: Julie Wiebusch Audio/Video Design: Cameron Nicol |
