Whatcom Community College Science Building
Mulvanny G2 - Des Moines, WA
- Work for this new science building includes HVAC, plumbing, laboratory piping, fire control, and fume exhaust.
- Our engineers provided each lab with a separate control system, as determined by the lab pressurization vs. fume hood exhaust requirements.
Highline Community College Marine Science and Technology
Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen - Bellingham, WA
- The new Marine Science and Technology building contains classrooms, laboratories, and office space, with a separate 1,090 SF Aquarium addition, located on an existing dock.
- The Classroom building utilizes a gas fired air handling unit to provide heating and ventilation through exposed ducting to the spaces.
- The plumbing system consists of cast iron waste and vent piping, and copper cold, hot and hot water recirculation piping.
- A domestic hot water recirculation system provides a quick response when domestic hot water is used. The project was designed to achieve LEED Silver Certification.
